An entryway shoe storage bench just might turn out to be the most practical piece of furniture in your home. Not only is it very practical since it allows your to store and organize your shoes, it also gives you a place to sit down and either put your shoes on and to take them off without having to do a balancing act to do so.
There are several models and styles that you can add to your entrance hall to make shoe storage easy. You can choose a basic entryway shoe bench with a rack or 2 under the seating area to store your shoes. The can hold anywhere from 6 to 10 pairs of shoes. These are nice and practical and inexpensive.
A similar type of shoe bench is the entryway shoe shelf. This is a shoe bench with rack underneath the seat, but these shelves pull out so it is easier to take them out or put them back in.
Instead of storing your shoes on racks, perhaps you rather store them in little cubbies. This is another great way to organize shoes. You can find a shoe storage bench cubby ranging from 42” to about 60”. These can come as a basic storage bench made of wood with the cubby exposed so you can see your shoes at glance. Depending on your price range, you can find them with a wood sitting area or a leather-padded seat.
If you don’t like having your shoes visible, the shoe storage bench with doors may be your answer. You can find several storage benches with sliding doors to keep shoes out of sight, but nearby. The doors will slide to either side so you can put your shoes away. Some of these benches will come with small drawers too that can be used for storage. You can use them to hold keys or gloves and scarfs. Use it to store items that you need to take with you when you leave your home. These benches frequently come with a padded seating area.
One model a friend of mine has I really like. It is a storage bench with a coat rack attached to it. This is made in a Cherry finish and looks great. The bench area has a lift top to put your shoes and sneakers in. Attached to the back of the bench is a piece of wood that has hooks on it so you can hang up coats and jackets. At the top is a shelf so you can store more items there if necessary.
